Plantation mapping paper published in Remote Sensing

AGS scientists Lindsay Ledoux, Dr. Nathan Torbick, and Dr. William Salas have had their paper “Regional Mapping of Plantation Extent Using Multisensor Imagery” published in Remote Sensing.  The multisensor approach they used to map plantations performed well in two different areas – Tanintharyi, Myanmar, and West Kalimantan, Indonesia and was able to distinguish plantations from natural forest with good accuracy using Landsat 8, PALSAR 2 and Sentinel-1 data.  This method may be applicable in other areas of the world.
