Invasive Species

Invasive plants are one of the most significant threats to biodiversity and ecosystem health. In the past, satellite remote sensing has provided general information on vegetative types, but spatial and spectral resolutions have limited the level of detail needed for more comprehensive wetland assessments. Recent advances in Synthetic Aperture Radar and hyperspectral mapping allow for more detailed assessments of complex information such as infestation and floristic quality, and AGS is at the leading edge of efforts to develop these tools.
